The ACCR is delighted to announce that a play by Beninese playwright Germain Oussou has been shortlisted for the RFI Theatre Prize 2024!
Asphaltage à Bokango is a text by the artist, the beginnings of which appeared during TEXTES EN SCÈNE 2021, a programme set up by the CCR International John Smith de Ouidah in partnership with La Chartreuse Cnes de Villeneuve lez Avignon.
In 2022, a second stage of writing took place in France, at La Chartreuse, and in Italy at La Corte Ospitale - Teatro Herberia, as part of an Odyssée grant, a residency programme for foreign artists coordinated by the ACCR. Between late October 2023 and January 2024, a final stage of writing in Nigeria enabled the play to take shape. This play is one of the 13 finalists for the Prix RFI THÉÂTRE 2024, the laureate of which will be announced in September.
