Playwright

Germain Oussou studied at the International Theatre School of Benin (EITB). He is the author of some twenty theatrical works, in partnership with the CCRI John SMITH in Ouidah (Benin), the Festival Univers des Mots (Guinea Conakry) and the Chartreuse de Villeneuve lez Avignon.

Germain Ossou's aim is to showcase African theatre. He is also an actor, director and cultural entrepreneur.

Continuation of residency:

Asphaltage à Bokango is a text by the artist, the beginnings of which appeared during TEXTES EN SCÈNE 2021, a programme set up by the CCR International John Smith de Ouidah in partnership with La Chartreuse Cnes de Villeneuve lez Avignon.

In 2022, a second stage of writing took place in France, at La Chartreuse, and in Italy at La Corte Ospitale - Teatro Herberia, as part of an Odyssée grant, a programme coordinated by the ACCR. Between the end of October 2023 and January 2024, a final writing stage in Nigeria enabled the play to take shape. This play is one of the 13 finalists for the Prix RFI THÉÂTRE 2024, the laureate of which will be announced in September.
