The Association of Cultural Encounter Centres met on 9 December 2021 to elect the successor to Bernard Latarjet, president since 2018.
Hubert Tassy was unanimously elected by the board of directors on 9 December. He succeeds Bernard Latarjet, who had held the position since 17 December 2018.
Hubert Tassy is director of the Saline Royale d’Arc-et-Senans (Doubs), which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Prior to this he was secretary general of the EUROMED network of towns and the deputy director for cultural development for the town of Nice. President of the Association Nationale des Délégués Départementaux for 10 years, in 2002 he founded the Fédération Nationale Arts Vivants & Départements. He also chaired the Nice International Summer Academy from June 2012 to October 2017.
The diversity of the CCRs, their local involvement, and the trust demonstrated by the State and the local authorities in the artistic teams that run them, make this network a unique model that the ACCR, under the presidency of Hubert Tassy, wishes to promote and develop in Europe, strengthening the links that unite these abbeys, charterhouses, castles, royal factories, homes of the famous and exquisite gardens. These exceptional heritage sites bring together artistic creativity, research and communication in the service of the public and the local area.
Additionally, Michel Wolkowitsky, director of the Abbaye de Sylvanès, and Johanna Siberstein, co-director of the Maison Maria Casarès, have been elected as vice president and board member of the board of directors respectively. Michel Wolkowitsky will carry out his new role alongside Marianne Clévy, director of the Chartreuse de Villeneuve-lez-Avignon.
