From an early age, Philippe Racz has straddled the line between science and art: one in support of the other, and the other in search of the former. Philippe Racz, a young talent in immersive sound creation, is working with Mathieu DeBlois on a long-term residency based on geodesic creation, drawing inspiration from the natural world around him.
Philippe Racz discovered his passion for sound very early on, and it has never left him. For several years he has been training in composition, sound design, psychoacoustics, digital lutherie and digital signal processing at various specialist universities: Polytechnique, Concordia, McGill - Music Tech and Université de Montréal. He has developed his skills in sound spatialisation and the creation of computer-assisted music through various projects and encounters, notably with Mathieu DeBlois during the collaborative project ‘L'architecture des souvenirs’ and his participation in a public event on Balmoral Island entitled ‘ELEKTRA/MATERIA: Laboratoire’.
