Carl Polke is a composer, musician and sound designer.
Carl’s work is known nationally and internationally for its animated style, his theatrical sensibilities coming from a passion for creation, collaboration and performance. He studied musical composition at La Trobe University, Melbourne, and as a composer and sound designer has taken part in numerous artistic projects. He worked in the world of contemporary circus with Circus Or, and many of his productions have been presented overseas. In 2019 he took part in an artistic residency at the Despina art centre in Rio de Janeiro, where worked in collaboration with Ania Reynolds on the project ‘This City This Sound’.
His residency at Ambronay in 2020, also in collaboration with Ania Reynolds, allowed them to continue with the project ‘This City This Sound’, a reflection on the sonic identity of places.
Residency postponed to 2021.
