Musician

Vahid Salehighomi is an Iranian musician.

"I carry in my heart, a lifelong passion for music and a recent immersion in the world of gardening in my motherland. Throughout my career as a musician, I have been seeking the intersection of Iran's folk music and the freedom of expression of jazz. Five years ago, I made the decision to return to my motherland Guilan and immerse myself in the world of farming and gardening. This experience has been transformative, allowing me to connect with the land and nature. The people, and their stories in profound ways. Working alongside farmers has provided me with invaluable insights into the rhythms of life, respect and celebrating it along with its pain, adversity, labor and its impact on fragile human body. But the resilience of the human spirit too."

Residency project:

“During my residency period, I aim to delve into an aspect of work culture of Guilan province, where dancing and singing were integral aspects of daily life, particularly among women farmers and gardeners.”
