The Iranian artists Hesam Naseri and Mina Deris came together at the Dominicains de Haute-Alsace for concert performances and to work on the video for their album, released in late 2020. Both artists also attended at the 46th Rencontres d'été 2019 at the Chartreuse de Villeneuve lez Avignon (National Playwriting Centre), another member site of the ACCR network.
Hesam Naseri fuses electronic music with the traditional music of his native Iran. His knowledge of traditional instruments and rhythms allows him to explore rewritings rich in oriental and Persian influences. With Mina Deris, he champions a culture which respects traditions and is open to the world. His most recent album, recorded at the Dominicains, is in its final stages of preparation and the Audio Visual Centre enables the artists to record the video materials which accompany it.
In March and May 2020, the two artists take up residencies at the Dominicains. Under the artistic direction of Philippe Dolfus, they will collaborate with the Russian sound designer Vladislas Isaev, also in residence there, to work on the following projects:
- Production of a CD with Vladislav Isaev, Ali Razavi and Philippe Dolfus, and at least one video.
- A concert at the CCR Chateau Mercier on 24 May 2020.
- Production of a duo event in the vaults at the Dominicains during the 2020-2021 season.
