Royaumont - Themed interpretation workshops

In 2024, the BLGF inaugurated a cycle of three themed interpretation workshops led by François-Frédéric Guy, Bertrand Chamayou and Pierre-Laurent Aimard for young professional pianists. Inspired by the prestigious BLGF collections of pianists (Cortot, Long, Lebébure, Helffer, etc.), these workshops will combine practical lessons on the BLGF's 1907 Steinway with musicological meetings for a fresh approach to sources and interpretation.

Intended for > 5 pianists per workshop – candidates may apply for the entire cycle or for individual workshops.

Timetable > Classes are held between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. and 4.30 p.m., with a 30-minute break in the afternoon. These times are indicative.

A workshop open to the public is scheduled for 6pm on the last day of each cycle.

A precise schedule will be drawn up for each workshop, including a presentation of the BLGF collections, a visit to the Music Department of the Bibliothèque nationale de France and musicological meetings.
