As part of its role as an observatory for the network, the ACCR has approached students studying for a Master 2 in Heritage Management and Tourism Development at the Institut de recherche et d'études supérieures du tourisme (IREST) to carry out an exploratory study into how the Centres culturels de rencontre fit into the tourism dynamic in their area and how they are identified by players in the sector. For this first experiment, Les Dominicains de Haute-Alsace and La Chartreuse de Neuville are the two study sites.
From September 2024 to January 2025, IREST students will be tasked with expanding the sample of people already surveyed as part of the 2022-2023 observatory, in particular by approaching tourism professionals such as CDTs, CRTs and representatives of the Ville et Pays d'Art et d'Histoire label, with which some CCRs have close links. This would enable us to gain a better understanding of how CCRs fit into the tourism circuit as players in the economic and tourism development of these areas and as planning tools.
From Monday 4 to Friday 8 November 2024, the two groups of students were on site to continue their analysis of the area and conduct interviews to refine their observations and make recommendations.
